Audiobooks

  Though this is the first volume of the Dagdan Federation Series, it is not the first Dagdan Federation Universe (DFU) story that I've had the privilege of performing.

  The DFU shorty story, Lunar Lions, is contained in the adjacent anthology: Contested Landing.

  As an avid Sci-Fi reader (and listener) myself, I am anxiously awaiting the second novel to see where David and J.R. take us. Back into the grisly Batavi Wars or forward to see exactly how big this catastrophe is, that the Fleet Legionnaires uncorked in this first book.

​

  This story is fun while while building up a continuous measure of action, grit and suspense with a large and dynamic roster of characters.​​​

  I'm posting this one early, as, I am honored to report, one of the stories in this anthology, is one that I wrote. I cannot wait, to read it to you!

  That said, Cogs and Cutlasses is a Pirate-Steampunk themed anthology.

I've not yet read the other stories myself. We shall discover together.

  I'm about half way through the book, and what I will tell you thus far, is that I believe the protagonist that Dan has created, makes Tom Darby the kind of Hero that I wanna be when I grow up.

A contemporary and esoteric Legal-Thriller with it's roots in SCi-Fi

  This ensemble of authors has put forth some kick-ass Sci-Fi in the stories of this anthology.

​

  Think, burning Drop-Pods full of conscripts forced into war and their mercenary space marines counterparts, screaming thought the atmosphere and smashing, under heavy fire, into surface of yet another shit-hole planet that needs "liberated" under the bootheel of some

 unified human initiative.

Yeah, that's the stuff right there!

  This collection was a blast and a challenge to perform. At one point I had an internal monolog going, along the lines of:

  Well huh, will you look at that. You're going to tell a story from the point of view of a Female, Feline Alien/Human Hybrid. Well, OK, cool. Huh..........................................Huh.

​  Yup, lotta fun. Great Stories.

​

  I went into this narration not really knowing what to expect.

  Why, sure. I DM'd plenty of D&D campaigns back when I was a kid. I have my degree in Tolkien, like any good nerd should. And may have even spontaneously joined a Shield-Wall once. But, even looking way back in the Kindle library, I just don't have much in the Fantasy Genre (been on a 30+ year Sci-Fi kick). I need to remember to diversify a bit.​

​

  I was pleasantly surprised, nay, shocked! By the cleverness contained therein.......facepalm.

​

​  In all seriousness, a lot of brain strainin', tooth grinding and emotionally charged effort goes into writing. It's quite a thing to be trusted with all these authors' hard work. It's humbling and empowering at the same time.

  The characters, and their stories, deserve to be dragged out of the imagination and into the real; hopefully I got them one step closer.
